With league placings decided and the Betfred Cup draw looming, the club have begun preparations for next season.

May 31 was the date on which several players' contracts ended, and we can update on the following:

Daniel Boateng and Simon Mensing have left the club and we wish to thank them for all their efforts and wish them every success in the future.

Kyle Hutton, Jordan McGregor and Jack McKay have all returned to their parent clubs and again we thank them for their contributions and wish them every success.

In respect of other players, offers have been put to them and we will issue updates as and when the situation changes.

Season 16/17 was an eventful time in many respects but it is safe to say that the play-off games against Alloa Athletic gave everyone a much needed lift.

The performance on the Wednesday night in the first leg was assuredly the best of the season and it was rewarding for everyone at the club to see the number of fans who made the trip to Alloa on the Saturday. The encouragement and support throughout the game was appreciated all round.

While it proved a step too far, the genuine feeling between the players and the fans was heartening.

Now we move onto Season 17/18.

The Betfred Cup draw takes place on Friday night and once our section is known, we will be in a better position to finalise the pre-season fixtures.

We have an early date confirmed on 24th June to play Gala Fairydean Rovers.

We enjoyed a trip down to the Borders last year and when we received an invitation for this season, it was immediately accepted.
