Hughes & McHugh share club's vision

February 1, 2018

Airdrie based opticians Hughes and McHugh have signed up for the official club partner scheme for the second year running.

Arthur Hugh and Kate McHugh own and manage the opticians practice, which opened in 1989 in the town’s Anderson Street, and provide a bespoke eye care service to the local community.

Almost three decades later the team has grown substantially but still offers a thorough and caring experience to those who want a more personal, honest and stress-free approach to their eye health needs. The shop also stocks many premium brands of eyewear – from designer frames to Rayban sunglasses.

Kate said “We offer a comprehensive half-hour eye examination including digital retinal photography. All of our spectacle frames are hand selected and checked for the ultimate quality and choice.

“Our experienced and friendly staff will discuss your requirements and help you select the perfect solution - and if spectacles are not for you, our optometrists take pride in offering the most up-to-date contact lens options”.

The relationship between the club and optician has flourished over the last 18 months. Due to their involvement with the club, Kate snapped up over 30 tickets on the advance pre-sale for Elton John last year – shutting the shop and taking all members of staff - and subsequently had a two page spread in the local paper. And Goalkeeper Rohan Ferguson and Commercial Manager Douglas Allsop have both benefitted from Arthur’s expert advice in the last year for a variety of eye injuries.

As an added incentive for Diamonds’ fans to visit, Season Ticket holders are entitled to 10% off complete pairs of spectacles... a huge saving!
