Adam Brown wants to see Airdrie's good form against Alloa continue as the fight for top four positions hots up.

The Diamonds have won their last two meetings with the Wasps, who were relegated from the Championship this season, and midfielder Brown wants another win to banish the memories of last week's Livingston defeat.

"It was disappointing, obviously. I thought we were doing okay, and were probably the better team until they scored - it's just our luck that it's a goal like that we concede.

​

"The second was a blow, because we felt we were still in, and the other two were poor goals from our point of view.

​

"Obviously we wanted to close the gap and we felt that it was a good opportunity, but we just have to forget about it and move on to a big game on Saturday."

​

While the win took Livi further clear at the top of the table, Alloa's victory over Queen's Park saw them leapfrog Airdrie into second place.

​

Brown is expecting more twists and turns before the final positions are decided.

​

"It's a tight league, and I think it'll stay that way for the rest of the season.

​

"You could have said that at the start of the year, it's such a tough league and anybody can beat anybody. There's a good five or six teams that could compete for the three play-off places."

​

 

Airdrie's claim to a top four position would be boosted by a third win of the season over their Clackmannanshire rivals, and Adam is positive about the weekend fixture.

​

"We've done well against Alloa this season, and we'll be looking to continue that.

​

"The last two games finished 2-1 to us. They were both good games and we did well in both of them.

​

"We'll be going there looking for the win that takes us back above them - all we can do now is concentrate on ourselves and aim to finish as high as possible."

Ryan Conroy's stoppage time red card against Livingston sees the midfielder suspended for this one, but Jack Leitch returns to the squad along with Jordan McGregor who has shaken off an ankle knock.

​

Head coach Mark Wilson is encouraged by the immediate chance to jump back into second spot.

​

"It's a good game for us to bounce back. It's an important game and it'll be a tough one, we need to play the same way as we did earlier in the season when we beat them at home.

​

"We understand the threats that they've got and we've worked on how to deal with that.

​

"Hopefully we can get a positive result and put last week behind us."

Referee Greg Aitken is the man in the middle at the Indodrill. The whistler previously officiated Airdrie's 4-1 home win over Queen's Park in October, a match in which four of the five goals came from the penalty spot.
