Livingston preview
12th August 2016
Adam Brown is delighted with his form in the early stages of the season, and can't wait to face some old pals on Saturday.
Midfielder Brown tops the Diamonds scoring charts with four goals in five games, and he's keen to keep it going.
"It's been a great start to the season for me. I'm really enjoying myself just now, and hopefully we can kick on and get more wins for the team - and more goals for myself!
"The way the team is playing definitely suits me. If we weren't passing the ball and playing the system we're playing, I don't think I'd have scored the four goals.
"It's been enjoyable, it's a great system to play in."
Saturday sees the first home match of the league season and Brown is expecting a hard shift against Livingston, who are among the bookies favourites to challenge for the title.
"We know Livi will be tough, they had a good win last Saturday and they'll be right up there at the end of the year - but hopefully we will be too."
There will be something of a reunion at New Broomfield on Saturday, as Livingston's summer signings included Nicky Cadden, Sean Crighton, Alan Lithgow and Liam Watt - all of whom turned out for the Diamonds last season.
Adam can't wait to face his ex-teammates.
"I'm looking forward to it, to be fair. I still chat to big Alan Lithgow now and again. The four boys who went there are good guys.
"It'll be interesting to see how it goes when they come back here and I'm sure it'll be nice to see them."
First team coach Kevin McBride added: "We know we're in for a difficult game, Livingston are a good side.
"There are a few old faces returning which will add to the excitement, but the boys are looking forward to it."
Lions boss David Hopkin was active in the loan market this week, securing the signature of Hibernian striker Lewis Allan.
The Diamonds may face enforced changes up-front with Iain Russell said to be a major doubt ahead of the game, but Andy Ryan is set to return following a one-match ban.
Referee Mat Northcroft is in charge for Airdrie's first home league match this season.
