Arran's Garden growing momentum

6th July 2016

Airdrieonians’ stars are calling for the community to be superheroes, and make one little Diamond’s dreams come true.

Dozens of volunteers have already pledged their time to help create a garden for Arran Brogan, who suffers from a number of health complications and has limited mobility. Several local companies have also given materials, while generous neighbours and Airdrie fans have donated more than £3000 to help fund the project, which will take place the weekend of 8-11 July.

Arran’s mum, Mary, is a lifelong Airdrie fan, and has been overwhelmed by the generosity and enthusiasm of fellow supporters. She and Arran visited the team at their new training base in Ravenscraig last week, and was chuffed when they pledged to come along and lend a hand.

“We’re a tight-knit bunch, but I have been blown away by the progress we’ve been able to make – thanks to the club, the Supporters’ Trust and Alba Property and Landscaping.”

Alba, one of the club’s official partners, are project managing the landscaping. Owner Grant Lambie said: “We’re in the home straights now. But we need as many people as possible to turn up this weekend and make things happen.”

Airdrieonians Commercial Manager, Dougy Allsop, said: “The club is delighted to be backing this fantastic project. Anyone who can lend a hand should go to the facebook page – Arran’s Garden - and let the project manager know what days you can help.”
