Jacob joins the Diamonds
28th January 2016
Airdrieonians FC are delighted to announce the signing of promising Australian winger Jacob Esposito on a deal until the end of the season.
The versatile 20-year-old starred for Maccabi Hakoah in his homeland and was available as a free agent after a stint at Livingston fell through following the sacking of former Lions boss Mark Burchill.
Jet-paced Jacob got a run-out in the 7-1 Under-20s friendly win over junior side Forth Wanderers on Monday night and his performance there and his form in first team training has won him a chance at the Diamonds.
Esposito came highly recommended to the club after glowing reports from former Rangers and Scotland midfielder Gavin Rae who played alongside him in Sydney.
He will now embark on a quickfire fitness stint to get himself in peak condition to push for a top team slot.
