Sean signs two-year deal

27th May 2016

Airdrieonians FC are delighted to announce the signing of gifted prospect Sean McIntosh on a new two-year contract extension that will keep him at the Club until May 2018.

Former Celtic Academy player Sean, 19, was a stand-out player in the Under-20s squad last season when he was moved from his midfield beat to form a ball-playing partnership in central defence with Dean Cairns.

He showed his versatility and class in possession when he made a cool top team debut in holding midfield off the bench in the 3-0 home win over Dunfermline on the run-in.

Sean is highly valued and rated within the Diamonds set-up and the coaching staff are thrilled he has committed his future to the full-time adventure moving forward.

He told airdriefc.com: “In the two years since I left Celtic I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Airdrie and it was a big step forward to get my top team debut last season.

“Now I just want to push on, I am delighted to have got the deal sorted and now I can get back to full-time football again and look to improve further as a player.”
