Forfar Athletic vs Airdrieonians preview

15th April 2016

Adam Brown described his relief at Airdrie's late show last week, and expects another tough game at Forfar on Saturday.

Alan Lithgow rose to head home David Cox's 90th minute corner to rescue a point against Stenhousemuir, and midfielder Brown felt it was all the Diamonds deserved.

"I was relieved when the equaliser went in. I don't think we deserved to take nothing from the game, so to grab a point in the last minute was a good feeling".

Brown played 74 minutes of the match before being replaced by Cox, and the former St.Mirren ace will be looking to keep his place as the Diamonds head to Station Park for another intriguing tie.

Forfar Athletic currently occupy ninth spot in the league table, but to say things are tight in the relegation zone would be an understatement.

Gary Bollan has started to put together a run of results following a nightmare start in the Station Park hotseat.

The Loons have taken seven points from a possible nine against the top three in recent weeks, and Brown knows they will be dangerous.

"It's a tough place to go at the best of times. Now they're fighting for their lives at the bottom which will make it even harder, but we're going there looking to come away with three points."

Three points would change the landscape again for Airdrie.

Incredibly, with only three games remaining, the Diamonds are still in contention for the promotion play-off without being mathematically safe from the relegation slots.

Adam is only looking in one direction.

"As long as it's still mathematically possible, the team will be doing all we can to get into that promotion play-off spot."

Danny Lennon's men will have to do it without the services of Jordan Thompson - the Rangers loanee was this week ruled out for the season with an ankle injury.

Forfar have selection headaches of their own with top scorer Andy Ryan suspended alongside Scott Martin and Thomas O'Brien.

Experienced whistler George Salmond is the man in the middle for the Station Park clash.
