Kieran MacDonald dedicated Saturday's victory to Eddie Wolecki Black - and says Airdrie must keep winning.

Head Coach Eddie was taken to hospital after taking ill during half-time at Central Park on Saturday, with the club since confirming that he is recuperating from a stroke.

​

MacDonald and his team-mates were given the opportunity to abandon the League One match against Cowdenbeath, but the Diamonds were determined to get the win.

​

"It's not nice to hear that your manager is going to hospital, especially when he's such a good guy.

​

"Everyone was obviously shocked, but we all agreed we wanted to get the points for the gaffer."

​

Those points came courtesy of a 3-1 win over the Blue Brazil - Jim Lister's second half double adding to a fifth minute screamer from loanee Jordan Thompson.

​

And now flying full-back MacDonald wants to repeat the performance against Forfar Athletic - and beyond.

​

"When we get the ball down and play we can beat anyone in this league.

​

"We have some real good players, so we're looking to carry Saturday's form into every game till the end of the season."

​

Joining in January following a spell with East Fife, 22-year-old Kieran is loving life at New Broomfield so far.

​

"I'm really enjoying it just now. The boys are a great set of guys, as are the staff and fans.

​

"Everyone made me feel welcome right from the start, so everything is good so far!"

Tuesday night's match is of course a rearranged fixture after a late postponement to the original tie in January.

Former Diamonds manager Gary Bollan returns to New Broomfield for the first time since taking the reins at Station Park, and the Forfar boss hasn't had his troubles to seek.

​

Saturday's defeat to Stranraer followed hot on the heels of a Tuesday night drubbing at the hands of basement boys Brechin, and Bollan will be determined to turn things around to avoid a relegation dogfight.

Airdrie welcome David Cox back to the squad following a suspension.
