A pie and a pint with Owen and Sandy

6th November 2015

Airdrie legend Owen Coyle is returning to the Club for one night only for a brilliant Academy fundraiser at the Excelsior Stadium on Friday December 4.

The Houston Dynamo head coach will be joined by fellow Diamonds favourite Sandy Stewart - his right hand man at the Major League Soccer club - for a special Q and A session hosted by Diamonds chief executive Iain King.

It’s sure to be an evening filled with great memories from two special players for the Club as we chart their times with Airdrieonians and their journey in the dugout since they moved on.

Owen told airdriefc.com: “I have been keeping tabs on the Club this season as I always do and things look really positive on and off the park.

“So when I was asked to do this I thought it was a great idea. Airdrieonians are a club that will always be in my heart and Sandy - whose son Scott is carrying on the family tradition in the team now - feels the same.

“I’m delighted that the night ties in with my time home from the States and I’m looking forward to meeting up with some old faces again.”

As well as the Coyle and Stewart Q and A there will be an auction, a raffle and a top quality after-dinner speaker on the evening to entertain the crowd which we hope will be a sellout for the youth development cause.

Tickets for a special night in the Joey Rowan Suite for all Diamonds fans are priced £30, which includes your pie and your first pint of the night!

They will go on sale at the Club Shop, the Trust Shop and at the Taxi for Farrell book signing at the game on Saturday.
