Airdrieonians Business Alliance held its second business seminar last night and welcomed Mr Mark Baird from Diageo as guest speaker.

Mark is Head of 'Alcohol in Society' for Diageo PLC , the world’s largest drinks company, and he has over 30 years of experience in Marketing, Business Management, Government Relations and more recently Alcohol Policy advice. Mark was also heavily Involved with the successful Bells Whisky sponsorship of the Scottish Football League for many years. 

The evening centred around the relationship between health, sport and alcohol and what the Industry is doing to promote responsible drinking through education and community initiatives.

The event was well received by those in attendance including representatives of North Lanarkshire Leisure, Bellway Homes, Inverhouse Distillers, Advance Construction Scotland and Specsavers. 

Mark Baird said "For a Community Club like Airdrieonians, the Business Alliance is an excellent way of bringing local businesses closer to the Club. I enjoyed the evening and would like to thank everyone for their contribution to the discussion. I wish the club every success for the remainder of the season."

Lorna Craig of Inverhouse Distillers commented "As a global Company with a significant local presence we are delighted to be members of the Airdrieonians Business Alliance. We took a great deal from the evening and it was good to share ideas and best practice from other local employers. The Club would also like to thank Steven Miller and his Corporate team from North Lanarkshire Leisure who are contributing to the Alliance by offering support to businesses who wish to promote sport and a healthy lifestyle in their workplace.
