New loan star Liam Lindsay was pleased with his first Airdrie match, and sees no reason why a play-off place can't be achieved.

The 19-year-old central defender joined from Partick Thistle until the end of the season as Ben Richards-Everton returned to Firhill following a similar deal. 

​

After illness and a frozen pitch had delayed debuts against Brechin City and Ayr United respectively, Lindsay finally made his Diamonds bow with an assured performance in last weekends 3-1 win over Forfar Athletic. 

​

"I thought my debut went well. 

​

"Obviously to pick up the three points was a massive bonus, but the team played really well and we deserved it. 

​

"The only frustrating thing was not being able to keep a clean sheet." 

​

Having already tasted first-team football with Partick, the youngster is not short on ambition as he explains the personal benefits of his New Broomfield loan. 

​

"I'm looking to build my experience so I can hopefully keep reaching higher levels in my career. 

​

"Experience is key in my position." 

​

That level of ambition is not confined to Liam's own career - the defender sees big things ahead for his temporary team-mates at Airdrie. 

​

"The boys have all been great. 

​

"There's a good balance of youth and experience, so there's no reason not to look at the play off places and go for it!" 

​

There is little room for error between now and end the of the season if that aim is to be achieved, and the Diamonds will head to Stenhousemuir in confident mood following a pleasing win - and performance - over Forfar. 

​

The Warriors have seen managerial changes recently, with Scott Booth leaving the club and Brown Ferguson taking charge on a caretaker basis. 

​

Ferguson was unlucky to lose his first match in charge, going down to a stoppage-time winner at Dunfermline after being 2-0 ahead. 

​

Both sides have full squads at their disposal in what should be an entertaining game. 

​

The spoils have been shared so far this season, with Stenny performing something of a smash-and-grab to win 1-0 on the opening day. Airdrie's win in November was more convincing, Scott Fraser and Keigan Parker grabbing the goals in a 2-0 victory.

Andrew Dallas is the whistler for tomorrow's match, having last officiated over the Diamonds in their recent draw with Peterhead.
