Brian's African Adventure

27th March 2014

Diamond geezer Brian McPhee is heading to Kenya in October to work with local communities.

The ex-Airdrie hitman, a popular figure among fans during two spells at the Club, has volunteered his services to projects such as running water installations at a local school, orphanage visits and sports coaching.

Brian is making the trip through a company called African Adventures, and he told us it was an opportunity he couldn't pass up.

"It's one of these things that a lot of people would love to do, and I have time off work in October and can't think of a better way I would like to spend it".

In order to raise the funds necessary to make the trip, Brian has set up an online donations page, and he explained how the money would be used.

"I'm basically going over to to what I can. This comes at a cost of £1700 for flights, accommodation etc, and any extra money raised will be used to buy clothes, stationery etc for the school.

"If the Airdrie fans would like to help then all the better!"

As a two-time Diamonds hero and Hall of Fame inductee, we certainly wish Brian all the best with a very worthwhile venture. Fans wishing to find out more information or to make a donation to the cause can visit Brian's page.
