Stenhousemuir v Airdrieonians preview
25th April 2014
Manager Gary Bollan reckons his players will get even better now that Airdrieonians have clinched League One survival.
The pressure is off the Diamonds who face promotion play-off hopefuls Stenhousemuir at Ochilview on Saturday.
A 2-1 victory at home to East Fife last weekend ensured Airdrie will not finish in the relegation zone this season.
And Bollan, who welcomes back defender Paddy Boyle from suspension, thinks his side is capable of finishing strongly as he turns his attention to planning for next term.
He said: "We can relax and enjoy our football and we might see the team get even better now that we're safe.
"It was a hard task when we came in but to get to where we are now has been down to the players. It's their achievement.
"Next season is a long way away but it's now about rebuilding for us. We will sit down and see where we can go from here.
"There will be new players coming in and some of the guys here will be moving on. But that's just the nature of football."
Striker Jim Lister, who has scored 10 goals this season after joining from Dumbarton, is keen to build on a six-game unbeaten run and just one defeat in 14 matches.
He said: "We've been on a great run and our only defeat has been to Rangers who have won the league. We will look to finish the season strongly."
