Stenhousemuir v Airdrieonians preview
22nd December 2013
Airdrieonians have a number of defenders on the injured list ahead of Saturday's trip to Stenhousemuir.
The Diamonds will travel to Ochilview for their latest SPFL League One encounter without Chris O'Neil, Grant Evans and Grant Drummond.
Full-back Paddy Boyle suffered a gashed knee in Tuesday evening's 4-3 defeat at Brechin City and manager Gary Bollan rates his availability as doubtful.
He said: "I don't think we see Chris or the two Grants this side of the new year. We will take a look at Paddy before the weekend but he could be out."
Airdrie suffered their ninth defeat in a row and an 11th loss in 12 games at Glebe Park. The result left the team eight points adrift of safety at the bottom of the table.
The Diamonds fought back from 3-0 down to level the contest in the third minute of injury time but Alan Trouten won the points for the home side with the last kick of the game.
Bollan added: "The first half was the worst we have played since I came here. But we made a couple of changes and showed character in the second half.
"I think 3-3 would have been a moral victory for us given the position we were in. I can't find the words to describe how I felt when Brechin's fourth goal went in."
Looking ahead to the clash with the Warriors, Bollan said: "I think we can build on the fact that we got it back to 3-3 against Brechin. That was a positive for us.
"We need to have people who can scrap and battle. We have got to take this into Saturday. We know what these players are capable of."
