Goalkeeper Andy Duncan will join the Airdrie squad travelling south to face Stranraer after having last week's red card rescinded.

The young keeper was shown a straight red for bringing down Dunfermline midfielder Shaun Byrne, but the Club's appeal was successful and the offence was reduced to a booking.

U19s goalkeeper Jonny Grier took over, and his first touch in senior football was a brilliant save from Jordan Moore's penalty.

​

Having earlier seen Dunfermline replace their goalkeeper due to injury, Airdrie boss Gary Bollan admits it was a first for him.

​

"I think this is the first game where I have seen four goalkeepers used.

​

"I think Jonny will remember this day for the rest of his career. His first touch in the first team is a penalty save. All credit to him. It was a great experience for him." 

​

The lifting of Duncan's suspension avoids a potential keeper-crisis, with loanee Scott Gallacher struggling with a knee injury.

​

But manager Bollan has problems elsewhere, with The Pars taking advantage of some slack defending last week.

​

"When you play at this level and defend like that you're never going to win game. We got punished.

​

"We've worked on things defensively. It's a case of dusting ourselves down and going back to the drawing board. We've got to work hard and stop conceding goals."

​

Hard work will be important against an in-form Stranraer side who have scored eight goals in their last two matches, but Airdrie will also have to sharpen up at the other end of the park, having failed to score in five outings.

Youngster Nicky Cadden may again feature, having impressed his new gaffer in his first-team debut.

​

"To be fair, I thought he [Cadden] did well coming into the game and that was a plus for me."
