Airdrieonians Advance again
22nd August 2013
Airdrieonians FC is delighted to announce that an arrangement has been concluded with Blantyre-based Advance Construction (Scotland) that the company’s name will be prominent on the front of the football club’s shirts in the new season.
Advance Construction (Scotland) first joined forces with then Airdrie United back at Christmas 2011, and the relationship has grown strongly since then. The company has enjoyed fantastic growth in recent times, in spite of the general economic climate, and indeed has recently won the prestigious award of “Growth Strategy of the Year” from the Scottish Business Awards, the nations biggest and most prestigious cross industry business awards programme.
To build on this success, and to share the rewards in the community, the company was keen to support the renaissance of the local football team. As soon as the club announced a return to its traditional name and badge, Advance Construction (Scotland) wanted to boost the club further, and has agreed a significant five-figure sum, and options to extend the relationship to a second or even more seasons in the future.
ACS Senior Marketing Manager Neil Gallacher commented: “We have been delighted with the positive feedback on our involvement with Airdrie over the past 18 months, and saw that circumstances were perfect to build on that success now and into the future.”
Airdrieonians Managing Director Ann Marie Ballantyne was equally pleased: “Advance Construction (Scotland) have been strong supporters in some tough times for the club. But we are happy that our efforts to give value in return for their support have been recognised, and that we can now build a successful squad on the park, thanks to support from our main sponsor, and the others we hope will follow the Advance Construction lead”.
Neil noted an example Airdrieonians could follow: “Our other sporting sponsorship gives support to local boxing hero Ricky Burns. Whilst Airdrieonians may be a distance from competing on a world stage like Ricky, we hope a challenge for promotion isn’t too much to hope for!”

TEAM KITS
With the sponsorship details finalised, we can now unveil our new 'line-up' for Season 2013-14 in the shape of our team kits.
Our home kit retains the familiar design, and this season we return to white shorts and socks.
Our black and red away kit was revealed previously as part of our sponsorship draw initiative, and will bear the name of draw winners Edusport Academy. The kit will also feature black shorts and red socks.
Last season's all-blue away kit, also sponsored by Advance Construction, will be used as a third-choice this season.
Unfortunately the late ratification of the name-change meant we missed our allocated production deadline with manufacturers Puma, and we have been advised that delivery of the new kits will be in October. We are working with Puma to see if this can be brought forward, and in the meantime we will continue to play in last season's kits.
While the delay is an unfortunate inconvenience, we're sure you'll agree it's a small price to pay for having the Airdrieonians name and badge back on our chests.
