Hard work paying off for 'The Flamingo'

14th August 2013

Lewis Coult was delighted his second goal in two games earned Airdrieonians a point on Saturday.

The 25-year-old struck for the Diamonds who drew 3-3 with Forfar Athletic in their SPFL League One opener at Station Park.

He said: "I was glad to get my goal. I'm a firm believer in that if you work hard you will get your rewards.

"You get taught that if you gamble, you will give yourself a chance and thankfully my long legs came in handy.

"It was an important goal as it has got us a point on the road. There were lots of positives and we will work on the negatives."

Former Cowdenbeath striker Coult also thinks he's linking up well with fellow summer recruit Jim Lister.

"I'm not just about scoring goals," he added. "I work hard for the team and I feel I've struck up a good partnership with Jimmy.

"His strength is in the air. There is no doubt about that. You get the ball in for him and he will give you a chance."
