Manager's View - Signings

14th July 2013

Jimmy Boyle says he is pleased to have signed defender Darren McCormack and midfielder David Sinclair.

The versatile McCormack (24) arrives from East Fife having previously played for Hibernian and Ross County.

Sinclair (22) was with Ayr United last season and made almost 100 appearances for Livingston. The duo have signed one-year contracts.

"David is a very good footballer," the manager said. "He is aggressive in the middle of the park and a winner.

"He scores goals from midfield and is a good signing.

"I want him to be really creative and positive.

"Darren has been with Hibs in the SPL. He's come back from a bad leg break at Ross County and is hungry.

"Both he and David want full-time football again and I'm delighted to bring both players to the club."

Meanwhile, Boyle says there is a better atmosphere around the club as Airdrie look to move on from last season's relegation.

And the manager believes the dressing room improvement has come as a result of the Diamonds' transfer business.

"I was really disappointed with some of the attitudes we had about the place last season," he said.

"But already I notice that there has been a massive change in the dressing room and that is down to the big characters we have in there.

"You've got Lewis [Coult] and Jimmy [Lister]. Big Colin Stewart is a good type. David [Sinclair] is a real winner.

"Hopefully their attitudes will rub off the other guys we have at this club as we know it is going to be a tough season."
