Dunfermline Athletic v Airdrie preview
11th January 2013
Airdrie have major personnel problems ahead of tomorrow's trip to Irn-Bru First Division leaders Dunfermline.
The Diamonds will be without seven players for the match at East End Park.
Suspension has ruled out defender Grant Evans and there are six members of the squad missing through injury.
Kenny Arthur (hamstring), David Lilley (groin), Gavin Griffin (ankle and calf problems), Sean Lynch (calf and ankle issues), Alan Cook (ankle) and Jack Boyle (knee) are out.
Manager Jimmy Boyle hopes John Boyle (back) and Josh Watt (illness) will be fit to play but rated them as quesionable.
There was some good news. Gregor Buchanan appears to have recovered from his ankle injury to be involved with Jamie Barclay and Paul Di Giacomo back following illness.
Airdrie go to Fife looking for a first win in 12 games and an improved performance after the 2-0 defeat to Raith Rovers at Stark's Park last weekend.
But the Pars will be formidable opposition and are top of the table on goal difference.
Boyle said: "We're stil in about things and we still believe that it is in our own hands to stay up.
"I believe we have enough quality to stay in this division. I want the players to believe that they have enough quality to stay in this division.
"Saturday's game was really poor as we didn't put enough into the game to go and win it. We lost the first goal and didn't roll the sleeves up to get back in it which is alarming for me and the supporters.
"I just want us to go out and give it our best shot in every game. If it doesn't work out? We roll the sleeves up and go again in the next game."
