And Glenmavis lad Bain is hoping the Diamonds faithful pump up the volume for their biggest game of the season.

He said: "We really did thrive on the support we had from the fans at Dumbarton.

​

"I think the Airdrie fans will fill the main stand and it's great to know they are right behind us.

​

"The players love the big atmosphere and that will push us on; it will be extra motivation for the team.

​

"I thought we were unfortunate in the first leg but there's nothing between the teams. We're still in it.

​

"I know every single player will give 110 per cent on Sunday and hopefully we will get the right result.

​

"We had some good chances but didn't take them. It's important we learn these lessons and be more accurate in front of goal."

​

Bain had a penalty saved just before half-time but reacted quickest to the loose ball to convert the rebound.

​

The 20-year-old revealed he was happy to accept responsibility from 12 yards and delighted that he managed to hit the target.

​

He added: "I just went for the ball once the penalty was awarded. I wanted to go for it and felt confident.

​

"I knew I needed to be alert if it was saved so I could get the rebound and I was relieved to see that shot go in."
