Cowdenbeath match preview

2nd March 2012

BOSS Jimmy Boyle says Airdrie can still make the promotion play-offs.

The Diamonds are five points adrift of a top-four place with ten league games remaining.

A spirited comeback forced a 2-2 draw with title-chasing Arbroath at Gayfield on Wednesday night.

And Boyle revealed that he has full confidence in his players ahead of tomorrow's visit of leaders Cowdenbeath.

He said: "I still feel we can get into the top four. I believe in the boys and believe that we can go on a good run.

"I'm pleased with the work-rate and effort of the players and I want us to take that forward.

"I think we have been suffering from a lack of belief but the two goals against Arbroath will hopefully lift confidence."

Airdrie could do their opponents from Wednesday night a favour if they take points off the Blue Brazil for the first time this season.

The manager added: "We took the game to Arbroath in the second half and I thought we had enough chances to win it.

"We might have put a dent in their challenge but hopefully we will give them a turn when we play Cowdenbeath.

"We want to have a go at them as we are pushing for a place in the top four."

Airdrie welcome back keeper Grant Adam and midfielder Sean Lynch from suspension.

Calum Murray will referee the match.
