The very best wishes of everyone at Airdrieonians FC go to our chairman, Martin Ferguson, who celebrates his 80th birthday today!

Martin joined the club in 2017, serving as vice-chairman for a year before being appointed chairman.

A strong and supportive voice in the boardroom, Martin has provided valuable guidance to both the board of directors and the football management staff across his time at the club. He has shared a wealth of experience gained over years of playing and managing in Scotland and Ireland as well as 16 trophy-laden years as head scout at Manchester United alongside his brother, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Although his time at Airdrie has been a relatively short one, Martin is definitely ‘in with the bricks’, and it’s hard to imagine matchdays without his words of wisdom, friendly demeanour, and sense of humour.

The directors, management, players and staff of Airdrieonians wish our chairman a wonderful birthday, and we know the Diamonds fans will echo that sentiment. Happy birthday, Martin!
