Jack extends stay

8th December 2016

We are delighted to announce that midfield star Jack Leitch has extended his contract with the club until May.

Leitch (21) had initially signed until January, but new head coach Mark Wilson was keen to tie down the former Motherwell ace, whose vision and passing ability have been instrumental in the Diamonds recent excellent form.

Leitch's pedigree at a high level has shone through in his performances since signing in September, and the Airdrie hierarchy consider it something of a coup to keep hold of the midfielder.

Jack told airdriefc.com: "I'm really enjoying my football at this club and I'm delighted to have extended my stay."

Head coach Wilson added: "I'm delighted Leitchy has extended his stay, he's an important part of the team. I've no doubt that there were other teams looking to sign him.

"He enjoys being here and being around this group of players, and he's excited by what we're trying to do here.

"Everyone at the club is very happy."
