21st June 2012
Our preparations start for 2012-13 with all of the current squad returning to training tonight.
They will be joined by new signings, Alan Cook and Grant Evans.
Also putting pen to paper after agreeing terms will be David Lilley, who rejoins us, and goalkeeper Kenny Arthur.
Talks between David and manager Jimmy Boyle had been ongoing throughout the summer, as David is now in full-time employment. We are happy to say that a deal has been worked out, and we welcome "Lills" back to the Club.
Terms were also agreed with former Partick Thistle number one Kenny Arthur, and we look forward to working with him.
Jimmy said "Both David and Kenny are important as we start our preparations for the season ahead.
"They are both guys with a wealth of experience which is very important but more than that, they are the type of people that have an impact in the dressing room around younger players.
"With a young squad you need this type of guidance at an early stage in the season"
We are in the final stages of arranging our pre-season games and once the necessary permissions have been granted we will announce full details.
This will involve an away fixture on 14th July and a four-team tournament on the weekend of 21/22 July, which will be staged at a local away venue.
All other fixtures will be behind closed doors.
The new strips will be unveiled early next week. As already announced, next season's teamwear will be manufactured by Puma and we will have pictures available of our distinctive new home and away kits soon.
The first kit to make its professional 'debut' will be the away strip, which we will wear at Hamilton on 28th July.
All details will be announced next week with prices and dates for the shop openings etc.
Keep checking in for more news as it happens.
