JIMMY BOYLE hopes Airdrie can build on the point gained at Falkirk last weekend.
The Diamonds host in-form Morton at New Broomfield tomorrow after ending a three-game losing skid with a 1-1 draw against Steven Pressley's men.
Boyle felt his side could have come away with all three points had they produced a better showing in the opening 45 minutes.
And he explained the thinking behind the decision to substitute his forward line at Westfield with Ryan Donnelly and John Boyle making way for Lee Brown and Willie McLaren.
He said: "I think there was a bit more out there for us against Falkirk. We gave them too much respect in the first half and didn't push the game enough.
"We created some really good chances and I was really pleased with how we performed in the second half and coming back from a goal down.
"The two strikers came off a bit unhappy but they hadn't had a shot on target. Sometimes you don't get good service but good strikers go and make chances for themselves.
"We needed to try and get something from the game and decided to change things. Willie and the young boy Lee came on and we dug out a result."
Tomorrow is the first match in a home double-header for Airdrie and Boyle added: "Morton have incredible experience in their team.
"This game, and the one next Saturday at home to Hamilton Accies are massive for us.
"We feel we can beat anybody in this league if we perform well on the day. Our home games are also going to be important."
Boyle hopes to have Jack Boyle fit again after injury. The manager confirmed that Fraser Keast has been sent on loan to Junior outfit Broxburn Athletic.
